The Counselor as Coach
God-centered counseling and coaching has the power to change lives--both your life and the lives of those around you.
Our counseling method recognizes that coaching can sometimes be the most effective means of producing lasting change. An effective counselor-coach should combine a strong spiritual foundation, relationship building skills, and strategic insight and empathy that guides a person from where they are, to where they can thrive.
We believe that the most effective path to reaching your goals is a counseling-coaching model in which you are empowered by having someone to travel alongside you as you discover and reach your destination. Taking steps toward a goal requires identifying the destination. As such, in the earlier counseling sessions we will work toward identifying your goals and desired destination. You will learn to recognize your true destinations versus counterfeit destinations (what we think we want versus what we really want--and more importantly, what God wants for us). Only as you discover for yourself your God-given purpose and do it will you begin realizing your full potential. Our role as counselor will be to come alongside you to draw that out, then walk along with you as we figure out what the next steps are.
God has called us to collaborative partnerships. By walking together, you can gain a clearer sense of direction, meaning and purpose. You will be able to see pitfalls ahead of time and discover alternate routes when necessary.
Ultimately, coaching is forward-looking and action-oriented. We are here to provide you with the focus necessary to take your dreams and transform them into realities. Strategy and action steps are essential. Remember, positive change requires a proactive approach. God has something for you to accomplish. You are successful when you find out what your part is and learn to play it well. We will come alongside you on the journey as you seek to grow and reach your potential. You don't have to go it alone.
