BIBLICAL PASTORAL COUNSELING
OVERVIEW
Counseling from a Christian worldview is a process in which the counselor and the client walk together towards the life and purpose that God has created you for. TotalGenesis uses a therapeutic procedure based on Scripture. We believe that the goal of all counseling is freedom—freedom from addiction, crippling fear, painful relationships, guilt and emotions that leave us bound. The Bible teaches that there is one thing that makes us free. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” John 8:32. As such, the counselor’s model will be to help you discover the truth behind what we do and why we do it. Why do I yield to alcohol time and time again when deep inside I don’t want to? Why are all encounters with my teenage daughter disastrous? Why can’t I break through this repetitive cycle of defeat? Why am I so angry? Why can’t I control my eating? When will I come out of this depression? These are just a very small sample of some of the questions we each face every day. When we discover the Truth as it is in Christ, we gain fresh insights and perspectives, wisdom from the source of all wisdom, that literally changes lives. This approach has consistently produced effective, positive, and more immediate results with those being counseled.
Our pastoral counseling uses ethical counseling techniques in combination with biblical principles. Our proprietary therapy models have profoundly changed lives. Our clients have experienced dramatic outcomes, even when they’ve been unsuccessful in the past with other therapy models. We are committed to the Jesus Christ and believe that counseling is in vain, unless it is founded upon and directed by the Word of God. The ultimate goal of counseling is freedom—freedom from addiction, crippling fear, painful relationships, guilt and emotions that leave us bound. “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1.
NO MENTAL HEALTH STIGMA
At TotalGenesis Christian Counseling Center we do not label or diagnose our clients. There is no mental health diagnosis in a client's file and no stigma of engaging a mental health practitioner. Our counselors are trained and certified in our proprietary Biblical counseling approach and methodology.
Please note that your provider will not make any official diagnosis, to fulfill any court order or prescribe medication.
